What course are you studying and what level?
BA Classics and Arabic
Why did you chose that course?
I like learning languages and in this degree I’ve learned three. I also like the politics/history side of the Classics degree.
When, where and why did you start rowing? And what do you love about the sport?
At Merton College Boat Club in my first year of undergrad. I knew I wanted to do a sport at uni, so I gave rowing a go and loved the early morning sunrises and being on the river.

What or who was the earliest sporting inspiration you remember as a child?
My older sister playing hockey
How has rowing and being part of the Boat Race squad impacted your life?
It’s been such a key part of such a formative part of my life; it’s hard to separate rowing from the personal growth I have undergone while at uni. It has taught me confidence, hard work, healthy competition, and brought me friendships that will last all my life.
