The Reserves races see the Reserves face off in between the two Blue Boat Races over the Championship Course. If there are any injuries to athletes in the Blue Boat there could be last minute exchanges of athletes.
Race times
Blondie-Osiris 13:36
Goldie-Isis 13:51
Isis-Goldie was first contested in 1965. Isis is the name given to the section of the River Thames that runs through the city of Oxford. Isis is also a major goddess in ancient Egyptian religion, sister to Osiris (see below). Goldie is named after John Goldie, a former CUBC President in the 1870s and legendary rower, and is the name of CUBC’s boathouse in Cambridge.
Blondie-Osiris was first raced in 1975. Osiris comes from the Egyptian god, first King of Egypt. Blondie is named after the 1970s band and is a nod to their Goldie counterparts.
