What course are you studying and what level?
MSci in chemistry
Why did you chose that course?
I was interested in biology mainly at A level so applied for natural sciences. Discovered how much I enjoyed chemistry and committed to switching to chemistry.
When, where and why did you start rowing? And what do you love about the sport?
First rowed at St Johns College School, Cambridge (~2014). Picked rowing as a different option and rowed on and off since. I’ve always loved being on the water, being outside and the comradery that comes with the team aspect of rowing.
What was your first rowing club and coach?
Mrs Palmer at St Johns College School.
What or who was the earliest sporting inspiration you remember as a child?
Hard to pick one person Chris Hoy, Chris Froome, Adam Ondra, Shauna Coxsey. Watching my mum finish Ironman Kona.
How has rowing and being part of the Boat Race squad impacted your life?
From just the first month the sense of belonging and comradery is unlike anything else.
If you weren’t a rower, what sport do you think you’d excel at?
Triathlon, I’d like to do another Ironman and at some point go sub 10.
