About Hannah:

Why did you choose MPhil in Health, Medicine, and Society?

HMS focuses on providing students with skills in the social, ethical and historical analysis of health and medicine. I did my undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering so I’m looking forward to examining healthcare from a more holistic point of view.

Why did you first try rowing?

I lived right around the corner from the boathouse and they were offering a summer learn to row

Who introduced you to the sport of rowing?

Tony Brach at West Side Rowing Club, Buffalo NY, USA

Where else have you rowed?

West Side Rowing Club, City Honors School, Syracuse University

What are your proudest rowing achievements?

Winning the ACC championship in the Varsity 8+, competing in the island challenge at Henley, being named the ACC Scholar Athlete of the year

Do you have a favourite Boat Race? Which one and why?

Watching last year’s boat race was really special because Cambridge dominated every single race for a clean sweep.

What would winning The Boat Race mean to you?

Seeing the pure joy of the athletes, teammates and supporters of Cambridge when the blue boat won last year is what cemented my decision to continue rowing this year. There’s no better feeling then when you just can’t wait to get out of the boat and hug the people in front and behind you who have been through it all.
